This is the basic steps to keyword research. This puts all the Affiliate Marketing Training Course - 4a and 4b and wraps it all together. Now you will need to do keyword research most of the time you write an article or make a website. Keyword research makes it easy to optimize you website or landing page, so you can show up first in Google search engines. And get most of the traffic form they keyword you have targeted form Google search.

Now to do this you are going to need 2 free tools.

the first on is Google.com

The second one is Google Keyword tool.

Google keyword tool allows you to see what people are searching for, and Google search will allow you to see how hard it will be to dominate that keyword.

So lets get started with an example.

Lets go back to the World of Warcraft niche, and lets say we are about to build a website/make a landing page on that so we know what we wont are articles to be on, now we have to find the keyword to target.

you can see if we were to target the key word “World of Warcraft”

Even though the keyword “World of Warcraft” has 11,100,000  monthly searches, It has over 61 million results, which would be nearly impossible and take a long time to get rank high on the search engines.

But if we were to make our keyword long tailed keyword, which is just an affiliate Marketing term for a longer keyword. we would be able to rank faster and high.

Say we pick “alliance power leveling guide” as our keyword, which is a leveling guide for a more specific part of the game.

You can see that it only has 3,400 result which means there is no competition at all, or there is but it would be easy to rank over them.

When ever using Google to look at keyword competition you always want to do the search in quotes, Because those are the results for people that actually are competing for that keyword. And if the results are less than 10,000 you got youself a winner.

Now if you look up “alliance power leveling guide” in the keyword tool you can see that there is only 880 searches a month. But just think if everyone of those searches went to you site, which if you are ranked #1 for that search term it would be likely to happen.

And the sale page convert 2-5% which most pages do. And you are getting $30 for each sale, which is the average per sale. that would be an extra $529 a month converting at 2% and an extra $1320 Converting at 5%. that month in month out all for about a weeks work.

Now tell me that does not sound cool. And that is only for this keyword, you could image if you targeted a couple key word. The money you could make is endless.

This is the free way to look up keywords it does take work and some blessing to find the keywords that have this low of competition and a good amount of searches per month but it does work.

First of lets start from asking what is traffic?

Internet traffic - is the flow of data in the Internet. It includes web traffic, which is the amount of that data that is related to the World Wide Web, along with the traffic from other major uses of the Internet, such as electronic mail and peer-to-peer networks.

In other words the amount of people that are going to your site.

Before you start getting into traffic you should have you lading page set up and ready to drive people to buy. This could be a Squidoo page, website anything that I mentioned in the lading page course.

Now in this part of the course I will show you how to get traffic coming to your site so you can start making sales as soon as possible.

2 Ways To Go

Now like everything that I teach there is always 2 ways to go. You can do it the paid way if you have money to invest, or there is the Free way to do it that is harder.

But first let take the rout of the FREE way to getting traffic.

Article Writing

One of the most popular ways to get free traffic is through writing articles. You would write articles about relevant topic and topic where you can also do a small promotion at the end of you article.

For this you are also going to need to know about and apply Keyword Researc, (which is Affiliate Marketing Training Course - 4c ).

But for an example of a good article to write, here it is.

Say a huge boxing or UFC fight is coming up and you can see through keyword research that a lot of people are looking up that fight, and there is not a lot of competition.

That means it would be easy for the page that you write to rank high in Google Searches.

Well you would write an article about the fight using the keyword that people are using to look up information about the fight in search engines. And you write you article around that word or those words, depending if you want to target multiple keywords. And give information or an opinion or anything that talks about the fight that you think people would want to hear about.

For an example you could write a short biography about the fighters history. HBO does that a lot when they are doing promotions for upcoming fights.

Then in the end you can promote this product Satellite Tv For PC

Satellite Tv for PC is a software that allows you to watch Live TV on you computer.

and say “want to watch the fight on your computer check this out”. But instead of having it linked to the official pitch pages site you have it linked to your website. And have them read you pre-sale page, have then get excited about the product then have then click to the official pitch page ready to buy.

That is how you would base you article writing.

So Where do you post the articles? You can make Squidoo pages on them or you can send them to a bunch of different article sites here is a list of the top 50 article sites http://www.vretoolbar.com/articles/directories.php

sign up for every single one if you want and send the article to them all. I know that is a lot of work, and I mean a lot of work. And

That is why I strongly suggest you signing up to Article Submitter Platinum

If you have the money to invest in affiliate marketing

Video

Another Great way to get free traffic is through making video and posting them on video hosting sites link YouTube.com.

So what would I make my video on? There is a couple method you can use when making a video for affiliate marketing.

You can:

• Go over a pitch page and talk about the product.
• You can do a video review/insiders preview.
• you can do an video article/powerpoint/sideshow and talk about the topic.
• Or you can just make a blog style video and just talk into a camera about the product.

for most of the method I mentioned you are going to need a computer screen recording software now the good one is camtasia and i strongly recommend it, but it is very expensive.

But there is also a free one out there called Cam Studio

which is enough to get you started.

Just like the Articles you are going to want to send the videos to a lot of different video hosting sites. Here is a list of the top video hosting sites http://www.jackhumphrey.com/fridaytrafficreport/list-of-29-free-video-sharing-sites/

you can sign up to every on and submit your video to all of them. But there is a better way to do it, and that way is called TubeMogul.com it is 100% Free and it will submit your video to about 15 of the top video hosting site out there.

All you have to do is create an account and start submitting video. The website will show you how to do so.

Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking is a way to submit you link with a little discrption about the the page, to a social bookmarking site, where a lot of people hang out and our waiting to see what you are going to link to them.

You want to submit every page you make to as many social bookmarking site any you can. if you write an article, submit it to all the social bookmarking sites. If you make a new web page, submit it to all the social bookmarking sites.

Social bookmarking site will not only get you direct traffic form the site, but it is also good for creating backlinks your website, which is good for you Google PR.

You can go through this list of bookmarking site http://mashable.com/2007/08/08/social-bookmarking-2/ create an account for every individual site on that web page (the link is up above)and every time you make a new page you would have to bookmark every page you make individually. But that would be so hard and annoying to do I dont think anyone would want to become an affiliate marketer.

But thank God for Bookmarking Demon this is a software that allows you to submit boomkarks to 100+ site with the click of a button you should check it out if you are looking to get traffic through bookmarking which is a great way to get great back links and fast traffic.

There is a free site called OnlyWire that submits you bookmarks automaticly, but its only to about 15 site. If you have NO money to start with I would use this but if you have enough for the Bookmarking Demon.

That is the best way to go.

Once you start putting these methods on how to get traffic to action you show start seeing sale in a matter of no time.

First off what is a landing page.

A Landing Page, is a website or a page on the internet of some sort. That is mostly used for pre-selling people and getting them ready to buy a product through you affiliate link/hoplink.

There are 2 ways to go from here. You can have a completely free landing page, but you have to follow the rules of the website that is proving your hosting, sometimes that mean all of your hard work ban, and that could make a good stream of income disappear. Or you can put a little money into having you own web page and hosting.

Free Landing Page

First lets look into the different ways you can go, when getting a free landing page.

Free Web Page Sites

www.squidoo.com/ - is a community website based in Hastings on Hudson, N.Y. that allows users to create pages (called lenses) for subjects of interest. Lenses are interactive, and can contain Flickr photos, Google maps, blogs, eBay auctions, YouTube videos, and other links. Squidoo is in the top 200 most visited sites in the world, and in the top 50 most viewed in the United States.

Squidoo is loved by Google and is in my opinion the best website to place a web page for free. However squidoo does put ads in all the blogs and there are multiply link that lead out of your page that are put there by squidoo. Although this is the best place to put a web page a single page, there is sill a lot of disadvantages to having them there. But if you don’t want to invest any money that this is definitely the way to go if you want to write a single page.

Another website that is link Squidoo is called Hubpages.com it has the same basic concept, but squidoo is in my opinion a lot better.

And this is why……..

When I first started affiliate marketing I went with hubpages and they ended up pulling down many of my pages for being Over Promotional, and I only had 2 affiliate links in it. I was very disappointed because I spent a lot of time working on those pages and they just took down my work for no reason. Ever since then I have not suggest Hubpages to anyone.

But the reason I bring it up because there is a lot of talk about it and I don’t want an overload of question asking about hubpages, even though I love all you comments.

Free Website Sites

Now there is 2 ways you can go form here depending on what kind of style website you want. If you want to set-up a blogging website, Then go with Blogger.com

Blogger - is a blog publishing system. It was created by Pyra Labs, which was bought by Google in 2003. The service itself is located at www.blogger.com, and blogs that do not publish to their own websites are hosted by Google at subdomains of blogspot.com.

This is the best way to go if you are looking for a free blogging based website. It is owned by google so it does realy well in Google searches. Even though Blogger.com  is very limited it is still a good place to host free blog websites.

The other way you can go, is if you want a basic style website for free then, your best option would be Weebly.com

Weebly - is a free web page creation site, funded by micro-seed fund Y Combinator. It uses a widget style format, allowing users to create pages with only a few clicks. The user drags and drops different page elements (such as images, text, and Google Maps) onto a page and fills in the content.

Squidoo is the best place to host a single page, But overall Webbly is the best free website hosting services. Because when you are ready for an upgrade you can sign up for the premium edition. Or you can down load the html and put it onto a different host of you won.

Owning your website

Site Creation

Now the reason you would and should wont to do this is because you wont have to depend on a third party to host you websites and ultimately make money.

This is what I personally do and it is definitely the rout to go. You get to have complete control of you website and everything in it is your stuff and no extra Ads are added to your site. You don’t have to worry about all your hard work being taken down satisfy due to reason that does not your third party host or services.

And this is the rout I strongly recommend if you have start up capital.

The first question you most likely want to ask if you are interested in starting up your affiliate marketing career this way is…

How am I going to create my website?

And there are 2 answers to that question one is you can use weebly to create you page download the html file and host it on to you own server. which is limited, but is free to do.

OR this is what I recommend

The next step to owning you own website is going to be hosting. Now the big question is where should I host my site?

The main one out there and the one you most likely heard of is hostagator.com, which is good hosting and a great deal if you are going to get the Business package, for $12.95 which is great if you are looking into making multiple site which most likely you will be doing if you are an affiliate marketer.

But if you are looking for something to get you by and is a great start up hosting service I would suggest hostmonster.com. With hostmonster you also get a free domain with you hosting service.

Look into both hosting services and see what one fits you best, because they are both good for different reason.

If you went through how to find a hungry crowd you should have already thought of a niche that you are interested in picking.

If you have no idea of a niche just think of the thing you like to do the most and pick that as you niche, But first you have to see if there is a products you can promote in that niche, and the way you would do that is through Clickbank, or CBengine.com

CBengine.com -  is connected with Clickbank and it has better search box, and give you more detail about the ClickBank product.

Now once you have a niche to promote go into Google and type in you niche an see how many search results there is. For this purpose I pick World of Warcraft Leveling Guide

(as you can see the search results are to the left), the search results is good to see how big the competition is.

If there is over a million I was suggest going into sub categories or pick a different niche.

for an example when I mean sub-category, say you pick health and fitness as you niche now I know for a fact that that is a highly competitive niche and if I want to show high in Google search results it would take a lot of work and time. So i would pick a sub-niche which would be something like diet, and if that was to big I would do a sub niche on dieting. And keep on doing that until you find a niche that has less then 500,000 search results but also has around 1,000 searches a month and you can check that with Google keyword tool. I will go more into keyword research later in this Affiliate Marketing Training Course

for this demonstration I am going to pick the niche of World of Warcraft Leveling guides, its an online video game if you don’t know what it is. As you can see it has over a million result, So I would suggest something below that many results for you but for me I am gonna stick with this.

Here are the world of Warcraft Leveling Guides Pro and Cons:

• There are multiple product I can promote in this niche.
• The competition is not extremely high, but it does have some competition.
• There is a good amount of searches a month.
• And I know that the people I am targeting are will to spend money on the product because they bought the game

Once you have figured out what Niche you are going to dive in to you can move on to the next step, if you can’t think of a niche i suggest going into clickbank and look for ideas in there.

Market Research

In this step the big question is, Who am I selling to?…..

You are going to need to know that so you can set up ,  adjust, and target you campaign to that demographic of people.

And I found the perfect tool to do this and it called QuantCast.

If you go to http://www.quantcast.com/ It should take you to a page that looks like this,

Now if you type in the domain name of one of you product into the search you will see a wide variety of stats.

the domain name I am going to type in is the domain name of the Brien Kopp World of Warcraft leveling guide.

Its one of the most popular world of warcraft leveling guide product.

The chart to the left will show you that stats that will be given.

Now you can know who you are selling to and make you capaign more targeted toward that demographic.

How To Finding A Crowd Like This

This step is skipped by most Internet Marketers, and most people that teach Internet Marketing. They have come to think that you can just pick a market and make money on it…. Which is sometimes true but who won’t to spend days of work, to find out that there is no demand for that product or the competition is to high to make it worth while.

Well with my Affiliate Marketing Training Course you don’t have to worry about that happening because I am going to show you how to find a hungry crowd.

LETS GET STARTED

First things first, we are not looking for a product to sell that is the most popular though sometimes, most of the time the most popular means the most competition. But what we want to find is a niche that most people have not heard about or not to many people have looked into, but that a lot of customers are interested in.

In order for that to happen you want your niche to follow a list of criteria for it to qualify the product as ” a niche that has a hungry crowd“.

So what’s the firs criteria?…..

Step: 1

You have to ask yourself this question……  How often does the targeted customer they think about there problem?

Why that question?

Well most digital product are going to e-book, video courses, or software. Now the people that buy the e-book, and video courses, and software buy them because they need information, help, or assistance to solve there problem.

So you know that your targeted customer is going to have a problem, that a given.

That is why you ask yourself…..How often do they think about there problem?

A good example would be if someone is overweight how much do you think they think about it?

Even though you cant know exactly how much they are thinking about it, you do know most likely when they are. And they are probably thinking about it when:

• They look in the mirror.
• They put on there clothes, or buy clothes.
• If they have friend that is at the weight they want to be at, or even if they see some one that is at the weight they want to be at.

And you could probably think of a lot more. Now you can tell that if a person was overweight it would be on his mind every day and for a good amount of time through out the day.

Now that was a good example let me show you what a bad example would be.

A Bad Example would be if someone had a Cold. Reason is, how often do you think people with a cold think about there problem.

Yeah they would think about it a lot for the time that they have it, but what about the other 360 days of the year that they don’t have it?

The problem with that niche would be that it comes and it goes quick, after the cold is gone you don’t think about it anymore.

Step: 2

Let move on to the second criteria, or second question to ask your self.

How important is their propblem to them?

Are they going to have a true desire to find a solution? Are they looking for it now?

Or is it just a small problem that just hinders them when it comes up, but not enough to actually do anything about it?

Step: 3

Find out if there is even a crowd.

There is many ways to do this but I feel with google keywords is the best way to find out.

Google’s keyword tool - is a software that allows you to find out how many times a term/word was search during this month and the passed month average searches.

If you type in “Dog Training” where it says “Enter one keyword or phrase per line”

you will come up with a screen that looks like this:

Now I labeled what the important stuff stands for so you can get an idea of what it is. As you can see there is a huge market/niche for Dog Training. You can see that that term is being search for over 1.5 million times a month. That mean there is a crowd there.

This is a great tool and I use it for many thing. But this will show you how big you market/niche is and how competitive it is.

Affiliate Marketing - is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate’s marketing efforts.

Now let me explain, if that was not to clear.

Affiliate marketing - is simply when you sell someone else is product and you get a commission for doing so.

If it is still not clear, continue to read and you will get it the more you read.

So let move on to the next question most people have when talking about affiliate marketing.

Where Am I Going To Get The Products to sell?

Almost all affiliate marketer start off selling digital product. Reason because it there is no hassle involved, such as shipping.

Now again almost every Affiliate marketer starts off will ClickBank.com, clickbank is an affiliate program network…this means that they are the middle station between affiates and the real product sellers. This is where you get the products to sell. That is how I was tough and that is how I am going to teach you. So in order to follow along go to Click Bank and sign up.

When you sign up make sure you put in all you real information. Its real basic form that you have to fill out to sign up. And everyone gets approved so don’t worry about that.

Looking into Clickbank

Alright now that you got your account set-up, I want you to take a look at the Market Place.(you should see it to the right of the sign up button). Now if you are at the market Place it should look like this.

Alright If your page looks like the picture above you are on the right track. I would suggest that you poke around Clickbank a little bit, and go to the FAQ’s to find out more about clickbank because we are going to use this through out the affiliate marketing training course. And most likely you will use this every day with affiliate marketing career. But for now let me run you through the basics.

Pick a category and hit search.

Alright well once you are done with that let me tell you what everything means if you don’t get it. I am going to pick Marketing & Ads as my category, so here it is.

Alright, Right here you will see a list of the product that you are able to promote/ become an affiliate to. Once you sign up with Clickbank you are able to promote every product in ClickBank you want without have to get pre-approved for any of the product creators. You can see you have a wide selection of product to choose from. With over 100+ new product being put onto ClickBank every week.

Now if you click on the view pitch page you will see the page that you are going to be sending you customer to.

If you look to the right of that you will see a button called “Create Hopelink“. and that will take you to a page that looks like this.

If you enter your ClickBank ID in the ClickBank user name fill in area and click create it will generate what is call you HOPLINK.

That is your link where you will need your customers to click on in order to make a sell and get a commission. The link will send your lead/customer to the product pitch/sale page.

And once created you hop-link should look something like this “http://1a26bofoj216i25qkbtxxk8tbi.hop.clickbank.net/“

Ok now if you go back to the market place page right above the “Create Hoplink” button you will see the product stats and here is what they mean:

$/sale: is how much you will earn per sale.

Future $: is if the product has recurring commission it will show you on average how much more money you will make after the upfront sale it could be more it could be less.

Total $/sale: is how much you will usually make on the total sale. This is different than the “$/sale:” in only one circumstance, And that is if the product has recurring commission on the product.

%/sale: is the percentage of the sale you get.

%refd: is the percentage of sales that are coming form affiliates.

grav: is the amount of unique affiliate that have made at lease one or more sale in the pass 30 days.

The Gravity is a good way to judge if a product is selling and how much competition there is for that product. But for a new affiliate I would suggest you stay under or around the gravity of 100. Just so you could get you feet wet and it will be easier to make sales.

Alright so this was the intro to my Affiliate Marketing Training Course, This into was almost all about about clickbank, but I still suggest you look more into it, take a look at the FAQ’s just mess aground with it a little more because we are going to be working form ClickBank a  lot more.
